V&S to sell yeast operation

V&S Group has signed an agreement to sell a yeast production facility in Grenaa, Denmark, to the Canadian company Lallemand Inc, one of the world’s leading producers and marketers of yeast.

This is part of V&S Group’s strategy to focus on branded spirits.

The operation in Grenaa produces yeast and molasses alcohol, primarily for the Danish market. It employs a staff of 81 and 2006 sales reached approximately SEK 230m.
