V&S Group has today finalized the sale of Danzka Vodka to the international spirits company, Belvedere SA, who will immediately assume responsibility for the brand. With the recent acquisition of Cruzan Rum, V&S now has a very strong portfolio of premium international vodka, gin and rum brands.

The sale means that Belvedere SA will take over responsibility for the sales and marketing of Danzka Vodka. According to the agreement, V&S will continue to produce Danzka Vodka for the next five years. The purchase price has not been made public.

“With the sale of Danzka Vodka we’ve taken yet another step in fulfilling our product portfolio strategy, which is to focus mainly on the premium-priced international brands, ABSOLUT VODKA, Level Vodka, ABSOLUT CUT, Plymouth Gin and Cruzan Rum,” says Ketil Eriksen, President for the business area, V&S Absolut Spirits.

Danzka Vodka was launched in 1989 and has primarily been sold on the duty-free market. Today, Danzka Vodka is one of the largest duty-free vodkas in the world. V&S acquired the brand in 1999 when it bought De Danske Spritfabrikker. In 2003 the brand was integrated into the V&S Absolut Spirits business area.
